Can't find your answer? Ask in the Discord's #ask-kathleen-and-nathan channel.
Should we bring a gift?
Please don't. Travelling all the way to Scotland to be with us is more than enough, and we'd rather you didn't have to pack anything extra.
What should I wear?
Autumn formal: suits, cocktail dresses, or a kilt if you have one. October evenings are cool, so bring a wrap or jacket for the gardens.
What's a ceilidh?
A ceilidh (KAY-lee) is a Scottish party with live music and group dances. A caller teaches each dance as you go, so nobody needs to know the steps. It's the most fun part of a Scottish wedding.
Can I bring a plus-one?
Your invitation lists everyone included. If you have questions, message us directly.
Do I need cash?
Rarely. Contactless cards and phones work almost everywhere in the UK. Bring a card without foreign transaction fees and a few pounds for small shops. Tipping is about 10% in restaurants and optional for taxis.
Will my phone work?
Most US plans offer international roaming, but an eSIM for the UK is usually cheaper. The house has Wi-Fi. UK plugs are type G, so pack an adapter.
Should I buy travel insurance?
We recommend it for an international trip, especially to cover flight changes and medical costs. Many credit cards include some coverage.
Is the venue accessible?
Let us know what you need in your RSVP and we'll work with Springkell to make it easy.
